Isla Daphne is one of the central islands, north of Santa cruz. There is Daphne Minor & Daphne Major (the latter being younger and the only one visited by tour groups).

Being so close to Santa Cruz would seemingly make the island easily accessible. Well, not so. The numbers of visitors allowed to see Daphne is restricted to less than 12 people per group. Furthermore, captains are only allowed to go ahore 1 time per month. This makes your chances of seeing this specatacular island slim.

Scientists have spent and continue to spend a lot of time on Daphne, researching the habits and lives of finches in hopes to learn more about their evolution.
