FOOD
AND DRINK:
The
Galapagos has wonderful seafood! Because of over fishing of lobsters
and sea cucumbers, we recommend not eating them and choosing from any
variety of fish available on the islands. There are many restaurants
and pizzeries geared for the tourist as well.
Prices
range from $2.00 for a set "almuerzo" (soup, main course,
and a drink) to $35.00 for a fancier, more western-style restaurant.
Because the towns in the islands are small, just look to see where most
locals are eating -- that's got to be the best!
On
all boat tours, food is included. On the less expensive tours, they
don't feed you as much as a fancier tour. If, indeed, you are taking
a smaller cruise and have a big appetite, bring a few treats to keep
on the boat for yourself. Remember, though, NO food is allowed on the
islands when touring.
